The HSPT is an important part of the admissions process and helps us determine the correct level of challenge for enrolled students when we build their schedule.

To register for the exam you must complete an application.  The application fee covers the cost of administering the exam for your student.  Once your application is processed, you will receive a digital checklist on your Blackbaud portal that will allow you to select the date that works best for you.  Students only need to attend one of the testing dates.

For your convenience, we're hosting the exam on Saturday, December 6, and Saturday, December 13.  If you cannot make either of these dates please contact our office.

Taking the HSPT at La Salle gives you the opportunity to pursue merit based scholarships, so we hope you will take the exam here at 612 Academy Avenue.

All schools who administer the Exam share results, so if you are not taking the exam at La Salle, be sure to check off "Taking the exam at another school" on your checklist.  This will help us acquire the results to complete your admissions folder.

Note:  For students not taking the exam at La Salle, be sure to list La Salle Academy as one of your top choices for high school when filling out the answer sheet.

    Exam Dates:
    • Saturday, December 6, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
    • Saturday, December 13, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m
    Remember:
    • Bring two No. 2 pencils.
    • No calculators are permitted.
    • No food/drink is allowed in the exam (besides a bottle of water).
IMPORTANT REMINDER:  The HSPT does not solely determine whether a student is accepted to La Salle Academy.  It is part of a larger profile we are building on each student during review and placement for enrollment.

We strongly advise that students get a good night's rest, wake up early and eat some breakfast, and come with a positive attitude with the goal of doing their best work.  All we expect is that students perform to their potential!

  • Admissions Process

At La Salle Academy, we take great care in our admissions review, holding applicants to a high standard while also providing a wide range of resources to support students with varied learning abilities.

Following the completion of an online admissions application you will receive instruction on how to provide the necessary documents and records for review.  We will use the following items throughout the admissions process to determine potential enrollment.

First Steps Following the Completion of Your Application
    • Records Release Form
    • Final report card from previous school year
    • Most current standardized test score results (PSAT, RICAS, MCAS, STAR, etc.)
    • If Applicable: Upload IEP, 504 Plan, or evaluations. These documents must be relevant within 3 years of your enrollment at La Salle to be considered for accommodation.
In November, we will request the following additional records and documents.
    • Recommendation Forms – This step will open after November once teachers have had time to get to know your child. You will be asked to enter the email address of both a counselor/administrator and a math or English/ELA teacher. The forms will be emailed directly to the educators you choose and submitted confidentially on your child’s behalf.
    • Most Recent 2025–26 Report Card – Upload your child’s current year report card once available.
  • Private Tour

Join us for a private tour.  Call the Admissions Office to schedule a time to come in and meet with one of our Admissions Counselors.
    401-351-7750 Ext 122
  • Ram for a Day

A Shadow experience is a great way to make sure that La Salle is a good fit for you.  Be a Ram-for-a-Day and join us for three academic periods and lunch.
  • Financial Aid

Financial aid applications open October 26. To be considered in the priority round of funding and receive a decision at the same time as admissions acceptances, families must submit their application and all required documents by December 31.

This year, you will have the option to use the new IRS Integration Request—a secure feature that eliminates the need to upload many of your documents manually through your FACTS portal.

To learn more, visit the FACTS website or contact us at financialaid@lasalle-academy.org
