David T. Miele, Esq. ‘78

David was born in Providence, RI, the youngest of three boys to Armando and Yolanda Miele. He grew up in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood. From an early age, David was interested in sports whether it was sandlot football, little league baseball or ice hockey.  David attended Providence public schools until high school. “I was considering Classical High School, but then decided to fulfill my dream of wearing the Maroon and White and playing ice hockey for the legendary Lou Cimini at La Salle.” That decision was reaffirmed as David played on two State Championship teams in 1976 and 1977, and was one of the captains of the hockey team in his senior year.

David attended the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass., earning a bachelor’s degree, cum laude, in 1982. He earned a JD from the Boston College Law School, graduating magna cum laude in 1985. David began his career at Roberts, Carroll, Feldstein and Peirce, and moved to Edward & Angell, where he was made partner in 1994. In 2000, David joined Citizens Asset Finance, a division of Citizens Bank, N.A., where he currently serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer.

David is vice chair of La Salle’s Board of Trustees. In addition, David worked for many years and served as chair of La Salle’s Rhode Island Alumni Association Board, overseeing many of its events and activities.

David and his wife, Diann, are residents of North Kingstown and are the parents of Dan ’12 and Jessica ’14.

David’s advice to current La Salle students is to “Take advantage of all that La Salle offers. If you intend to come to school from 8 AM to 2 PM and not get involved and explore your interests, don't waste your money (or your parents’ money, more accurately). You don’t have to be athletically inclined. You can explore your interests in the arts, sciences or other areas. Participating in these activities, more than in the classroom, is where you are going to make your lifelong friends and create lasting memories. Also, remember family and friends are most important both in your time at La Salle and in the years beyond. Lastly, when you have settled into your adult life, don’t forget all that La Salle provided you with during those formative years. Stay connected to La Salle as we need the next generation of leaders to continue the stewardship of this great institution.”
